The proposed project

WCMRC, on behalf of Ferrell Estates Ltd., proposes to conduct dredging of up to 600 cubic metres in the water lot fronting 23511 Dyke Road, Richmond, BC. Dredging is required to remove accumulated sediments and ensure safe navigation and operation of marine equipment (e.g., pollution response vessels, etc.). The Applicant is seeking a one-year permit to dredge.

The Project will consist of selectively dredging high points in a 500 square metres area during the single dredge event with a maximum target dredge depth of 1.2 metres below the existing grade (to a maximum approximate -6.0 metres Chart Datum). Maintenance dredging will be completed using a marine spud derrick- or barge-mounted clamshell dredge or excavator. Dredged materials will be loaded onto barges for transport and disposal at an approved upland disposal site.
