February 25, 2022 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which involves the following:

• Removal of existing wood siding and the installation of new composite siding on all buildings.
• Replace existing wood and vinyl framed windows with new aluminum framed windows to match existing profiles and historic character.
• Replace soffits and install venting.
• Inspect exterior doors and replace with new metal doors.
• Install ventilation in mechanical bunker room.
• Install retaining wall and extend parking lot
• Upgrade storm water system and install 1-oil/water separator
• Replace outdoor deck and fire escapes
