The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which consists of analyzing the Officer's Mess building envelope. The goal of the project is to repair, upgrade, and replace the building envelope which includes exterior walls, doors, windows and the roof. The building has a Recognized heritage status, and the design will adhere to the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada (as published by Parks Canada) to ensure the heritage character is protected. The site has known designated substances and potential for archaeology, therefore these factors are included in the project planning of building intrusive work and excavation work around the building.
