The Proposed Project

Zagime¯ Anishinabëk is looking to develop a community center on their reserve land located at SW 18-24-3-W2 in the Rural Municipality of Saltcoats, Saskatchewan.  The proposed project will cover approximately 227,980 square meters of the Reserve land.

The development will be a hub for community events such as weekly bingos, socials, community meetings, and other community yearly events.  The center will feature a fully functional kitchen, a community room, a storage room, a lounge, an office, washrooms, and a mechanical room.  The center will be used for both public and private functions by the Zagime community members or non-community members alike.  The center will be ideal for weddings, concerts, and meetings.

The decision about water and sewage services have not been made. However, the concept plan includes access to a low-pressure line and septic services.
•    Electricity – Available on site.
•    Natural Gas – The design phase has not been completed to determine access to service line.
•    Access Road - A 400m access road will be constructed to provide building access.

In addition to the building an access road will also be developed and constructed on site.  The road is expected to be around 400m in length and extend from the grid road or highway #9 across the site to the building.
