Launch Ramp Reconstruction – Gull Harbour, MB  - Fall 2021 – Public Comments Invited

June 23, 2021 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours Branch, must determine whether the proposed Launch Ramp Reconstruction – Gull Harbour, MB - Fall 2021 project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Gull Harbour, Manitoba is located on Hecla Island and is approximately 200km North of Winnipeg, MB at the end of Provincial Highway 8.  The harbour is an active commercial fishing facility under the administration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH).

Small Craft Harbours Branch, (SCH) is proposing to reconstruct the launch ramp at Gull Harbour, Manitoba.  The scope of work includes the demolition and removal of the existing launch ramp and the construction of a new launch. The work area at Gull Harbour is approximately  275m2. The work will be done in open water conditions using shore-based equipment and is scheduled for Fall 2021.
