Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Maintenance and rehabilitation of ditches - Defence Research and Development Canada / Government of Canada, Valcartier

June 11, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which involves the maintenance and rehabilitation for the ditches in the northern and southern sectors of DRDC -Valcartier, which will include the re-profiling and removal of sediments from the bottom of the ditches in order to restore their original profile. For certain sections, it is planned to excavate to a depth of approximately 30 cm to remove contaminated sediments.
