PSPC requires slope stabilization treatment of the northbound lane highway embankment together with drainage improvements along the southbound lane Right-of-Way (RoW) at km 155, Alaska Highway, BC.  These upgrades will include:

  • Construction of an embarkment buttress including a continuous shear key with subdrain to stabilize the failed slope at km 155.0 together with adjacent areas exhibiting signs of slope movement;
  • Construction of a new, approximately 600 m long, armoured roadside ditch along the southbound land RoW which will drain into the existing culvert inlet km 155.1.  Works at the culvert inlet will include temporary armouring to mitigate erosion and allow for future twinning of the existing culvert.
