Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Pad A Demolition at Building T-126 at CFB Borden

March 17, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) Real Property Operations proposes to demolish Pad A at Building T-126, due to the aging and inadequate infrastructure that will no longer be used. The estimated gross area of Pad A at Building T-126 is 2,133 m2. The demolition will take place at 100 Ramillies Road on Canadian Forces Base Borden, approximately 4.7 kmsouthwest of Angus, Ontario. Construction is tentatively anticipated to begin no sooner than the summer of 2022, with site use commencing in fall 2022.
