Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Paving project at Garrison Wainwright

March 15, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project involves applying asphalt to existing parking areas at Garrison Wainwright. The locations and current conditions of the parking lots are: Building 633 (asphalt), Building 750 (dirt/gravel) and Bulk parking area (gravel). Construction is planned for summer 2021. Project activities include:
· Removal and storage of topsoil as required.
· Minor grading as required in gravel areas to level low spots.
· Removal and disposal of old asphalt as required.
· Application of asphalt.
· Landscaping, as required.
