Wanaki Center Expansion Project – Public Comments Invited
2021-01-27 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Wanaki Center Expansion Project, located in Kitigan Zibi is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project
A new section will be added to the Wanaki Center's northern part.
The building extension, including the basement, will measure 10.12 m wide by 29.52 m long. Given the steep slope of the area, some filling will be required at the north end of the structure. The total encroachment of the extension into the natural environment is therefore estimated at approximately 340 square meters.
