The Proposed Project

Hnausa Harbour is located on the West side of Lake Winnipeg, approximately 120 km North of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The harbour is an active commercial fishing facility under the administration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH).

Small Craft Harbours is proposing to undertake dredging at Hnausa Harbour.  The scope of this project includes dredging of the channel entrance. The proposed dredging will be done from the ice by land based equipment and a silt curtain will be used to isolate the area.  All dredged material will be disposed of on land above the high water mark. The approximate area to be dredged is 3020 square meters, and the approximate total volume of material is 2000 cubic meters.
