Notice of Determination for the Ocean Man First Nation 1 MW Solar Project

August 28, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Ocean Man First Nation 1 MW Solar Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on the following factors:
   - by Band Council Resolution and application for permit, Ocean Man First Nation requested that Indigenous Services Canada issue a permit for a 1 MW Solar installation.

 -Ocean Man First Nation will receive revenue which benefits the First Nation and its membership
 -no public comments were received concerning the project
- advice from Environment and Climate Change Canada on the proposal
- bird and Species at Risk (SAR) survey conducted at the proposed locations
-mitigation measures outlined

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address:
   -construction and installation to take place in the fall, winter or early spring
  - bi-yearly visual observation after construction to ensure no effects on birds or SAR

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
