Notice of intent to make a determination

Weepuskow Sahgaiechan IR 165D Timber Harvest Plan 2020-21 - Public Comments invited

August 17, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Weepuskow Sahgaiechan IR 165D Timber Harvest Plan 2020-21, located on Weepuskow Sahgaiechan IR 165D, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Canoe Lake First Nation has requested that a timber permit be issued for the 2020-2021 year to Mistik Management, who plan to harvest a softwood volume of 6,641 m3, and a hardwood volume of 47,000 m3 from a 230.95 hectare area from a cutblock on Weepuskow Sahgaiechan IR 165D.
