The Proposed Project

The Permit Holder proposes to continue ongoing construction of G3 Terminal Vancouver up until August 31, 2020. This would require an extension to the approved G3 Terminal Vancouver project permit (PER No. 15-180), which has an expiry date of May 31, 2020.

G3 Limited also proposes to carry out physical works associated with the approved G3 Terminal Vancouver project 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to August 31, 2020. This would require an amendment to condition 34 of the approved project permit, which states:

All general construction and physical activities related to the Project shall be conducted between Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7:00am to 8:00pm. No construction or physical activities shall occur during Sundays or holidays. These hours shall not be modified without prior approval from VFPA.

The condition amendment is being requested further to earlier approval in October 2019 which allowed physical works to be carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from November 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority understands that these works are not anticipated to generate significant noise and that G3 Limited is committed to concentrating any activities likely to generate noise to daytime hours.
