The Proposed Project

A large-scale soil remediation project is being proposed in response to identified contamination related to firefighting training activities that have occurred at the site since the 1950 's. The soil remediation will involve the excavation and encapsulation of approximately 80,000 m3 of impacted soil, and capping the majority of the Site with clean fill to decreases risks associated with impacted surficial soils to ecological receptors. Following completion of the project, Site operations (ie. firefighter training) will be modified to prevent future contamination from occurring at the Site.
