Notice of Termination

Ottawa – October 15, 2014 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) has terminated the comprehensive study of the Highway 914 - All Weather Roadway - McArthur River Mine Site to Cigar Lake Mine Site Project (the Project) pursuant to the former Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (the former Act).

Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada have determined that authorizations under the Fisheries Act and the Navigation Protection Act respectively will not be required. Under the former Act, if no federal authority is required to exercise a power, duty, or function, in relation to a project, a federal environmental assessment is not required. As a result, the comprehensive study type environmental assessment of the Project has been terminated.
