In a time when all of the news surrounding AI and their data centres is only negative, this is a remarkably poor decision.

AI Data Centres:

  • Strain our power grid
  • Are an enviromental strain on water, air quality, local and migratory wildlife
  • Produce disruptive noise pollution to the local area
  • Are counterproductive to sustainability efforts
  • Eliminate jobs as AI is forcibly spread throughout the worlds workforce, replacing workers to improve profits
  • Outside of short-term job creation, have little to no benefits to the citizens living nearby,

In the words of Marcus Tullius Cicero, "Cui bono?" - To whom is this a benefit, exactly?
