Consultation Insufficient

Hello, I would like to say that although I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of Indigenous consultation that was conducted for this project I do have to say as someone who lives within a 2 mile radius of this project I wasn't consulted at all.

The only clue that we had that something was going on in our area, was a vague letter from Sturgeon County asking if we would be interested in selling our property, that is all. No information about a project, or why we might be interested in selling our property. I only found out through a co-worker that lives in the area that this was even happening, and that wasn't unti May of 2026. The fact that great efforts were made to consult indigenous communities hundreds of kilometers away (Saddle Lake, Onion Lake, etc) but not people who are actually being impacted by this AI Data Center is plain ridiculous.

This Data Center is being added to a community that already has water drought issues (over the past almost 20 years we've lived here), as well as impact to farms and families living in this area. This is not an isolated area, this is a community with hundreds of families and businesses that will be impacted. Not only will this impact the people but wildlife in this area.

The negative impact outweighs the benefits, this will not add enough benefit to the community to even consider this area for this project. Unsure why this wasn't better communicated to the community, makes me think this was something the county was trying to push through without proper consulation or study, dollars outweighing the health and safety of the surrounding area.

Thanks,
