Please deny this project!

a federal assessment is warranted!

our provincial politicians are biased toward this project to try to impress their bosses. No interest in protecting public

I am a respiratory therapist and COPD educator.
This EA contains no health impact assessment for a facility that will emit nitrogen oxides, fine particulate matter (PM2.5), sulphur oxides, carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, and benzene—a known carcinogen—within 1 kilometre of residential homes, near an elementary school, and near vulnerable populations.
Research on fuel-fired power plants demonstrates significantly elevated rates of asthma hospitalizations, acute respiratory infections, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease among nearby residents. National analyses show pollutants from gas-fired plants contribute to thousands of excess deaths annually, hundreds of thousands of asthma attacks, thousands of new childhood asthma cases, and billions in health costs.
Children exposed to even low levels of PM2.5 face substantially higher risk of early childhood asthma. Long-term exposure reduces lung function development and causes permanent damage.

This will also impact our water.si of us may lose  access to water. Many of us have lived here for generations because it's clean air and water.
There has been no community engagement!calls are not returned by our politicians in pictou county.

Please protect us by ensuring a federal environmental assessment.
