To Whom It May Concern,

I am a local resident in the project region and fully support the continued advancement of the Baptiste Nickel project. As per the information outlined in the Initial Project Description (IPD), FPX Nickel’s Baptiste Project will provide long term direct and indirect economic benefits to the region.

The region surrounding the proposed mine will benefit from the local and regional business and employment opportunities over the 30-year life of mine.  Timely regulatory approvals for mining projects will help offset the many challenges faced by the declining forest sector and help diversify and stabilize the economy in this region.

FPX Nickel’s engagement strategies include meeting with First Nation communities that may be impacted, hosting open houses in communities in the mine region to provide project information, and meeting with local elected officials. The community open houses I attended were well planned and FPX’s management team provided a full scope of project information. The FPX community office in Fort St James is a valuable asset for locals seeking up to date information. Keeping people informed during the phases of development demonstrates the company’s commitment to their environmental and social responsibility. I am looking forward to more updates as the project develops, acquires required approvals, and advances toward construction
