As a local business owner in Fort St. James—approximately 90 km from the project site—I have followed FPX Nickel's activities and community engagement efforts with great interest. The company's commitment to responsible development, low-carbon nickel production, and collaboration with local and Indigenous communities aligns well with the values we hold in our region. FPX Nickel has demonstrated a genuine dedication to benefiting the surrounding areas through initiatives such as opening a community office in Fort St. James, hosting open houses, and contributing to local economic opportunities. The Baptiste Project represents a significant opportunity for sustainable growth in northern British Columbia, including potential job creation, infrastructure improvements (such as access roads and power connections), and demand for local goods and services—areas where businesses like Fort Machine Works could directly contribute through machining, fabrication, and equipment maintenance support.
