Support for FPX Nickel Mine

On behalf of Canyon Tree Farms Inc. (CTF), a Fort St. James based civil company, I am writing to express our support for the responsible development of the FPX Nickel Project near Fort St. James. As a locally owned and operated company with deep roots in this community, we recognize the significant positive economic opportunities this project can bring to our region. Major resource development creates meaningful employment, stimulates local business growth, and strengthens the long term economic stability of northern communities like ours. From the early site preparation and through the long term operations and maintenance, the FPX project has the potential to generate sustained economic activity that will benefit families, small buisnesses and service providers throughout Fort St. James and the surrounding areas. For local contractors like us, the project represents an important opportunity to contribute our experience in our own backyard. Beyond direct empolyment and contracting opportunities, the broader community stands to benefit from increased spending in local shops and services, expanded apprenticeship and training opportunities for young people, and the retention of skilled workers in the region. Strong local procurement and meaningful partnerships with area first nations can further enhance these benefits, ensuring that project investment remains in the north and contributes long term regional capacity.
