Pays Plat First Nation - Lot Servicing Project (20)

Pays Plat First Nation proposed this project to prepare and service twenty (20) new residential lots to accommodate future housing construction project(s) within the community. Each residential lot will be approximately 30 m x 60 m (1,800 m² each). The new lots will be developed east of the existing residential area on the north side of Highway 17. Topographic survey and geotechnical investgations shall inform the detailed design prior to site development.

Project activities include earthworks related to site preparation with clearing and grubbing, grading and drainage, excavations for foundations, service connections and/or extensions for electricity, water and wastewater, with some lots potentially requiring septic installations. Civil engineering and architectural designs, including stamped drawings shall be provided for the future construction phase.

Latest update

December 12, 2025 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.

October 03, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Lot Servicing Project for twenty (20) future residential units, located in Pays Plat First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.
