Meaford Hydropower Project

 Dear Mr. Skocylas,

I am a third-generation Georgian Bay island cottager, and I strongly support the need for a full environmental assessment before this hydroelectric project moves forward. As stewards of Georgian Bay, it is in our best interest to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of this Great Lake.

The Georgian Bay Association has highlighted numerous concerns, including impacts on fish and fish habitat, water quality, species at risk, the health and safety of swimmers and boaters, as well as shoreline erosion and modification.

For these reasons, I believe it is imperative that this project proceed with caution and careful consideration of its potential environmental impacts.
