I am concerned about this proposal for a many reasons, which include both harm and irreversible damage to the existing environment, ecosystems, and habitats as well as potential for drinking water contamination. The local community will experience substantial negative impacts during and after the construction of this facility. Construction traffic alone will be unbearable for local residents, not to mention, the lack of safe pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in place currently to help protect people using different modes of transportation on the roads that will also be used for construction routes. I'm also concerned about the noise of the built and functioning pumped storage facility, and impacts on the local residents when operating (both when water is pumped and released). I'm concerned for residents who live below and down-slope from the pumped storage basin should the basin ever fail - it would be catastrophic. Alternative options that are less expensive and less destructive to the environment, ecosystems, habitats and local community are available and should be explored instead.
