As someone in their mid-twenties, the decision to proceed with the project is extremely disappointing. To think about how long this water source has existed as a thriving ecosystem, and now to think that this will be the generation to destroy that. I urge the representatives of this area to leave a positive influence on the Country and Province they vowed to serve. Seeing all the effects of a warming climate on the quality and quantity of freshwater should make us want to protect it. The knowledge that Meaford’s most integral tourism pull is going to be harmed, does not invite new citizens. It’s going to drive away the youth who will not see a reason to remain here or return here in the future. Though pricy, Battery Energy Storage Systems would reduce the environmental impact and would not require the same plot of land as the PSS. Therefore leaving the escarpment ecosystems and Georgian Bay (plus all connected waters) unharmed.
