I am concerned that the Dam built by TC energy on the 4CDTC in Meaford will affect the tributaries that flow from the top of the escarpment creating streams that flow into wet lands and Georgian bay. The size of the proposed dam will cut off water flow to these vital streams and wetland areas. The streams are vital for sustaining life of the many Frog species ( including endangered and at risk frogs and salamanders) in the area. There will also be a large impact to Rodents, Birds, Buttery flies and the Deer population (some at risk) that rely on these streams for water and vegetation.

Georgian Bay and the escarpment is on a migratory bird pathway and the water and wetlands are vital to these birds. I am worried about the effect of the dam, not only on wildlife at the Military Base but also on all the areas downstream, which will be impacted by changes in water flow from the top of the escarpment.

The banks of these streams that flow down from the top of the escarpment support many plant life including Joe pyweed and Milkweed which are vital nesting plants to the endangered monarch butterflies. The location of the Dam will cut off water supply to these vital streams.
