Projet de nouvelle centrale nucléaire à Wesleyville
No to nuclear

I used to accept nuclear as a necessary part of our energy system, but not now, in light of recent price changes for safer, better energy sources.
Solar panel prices have plummeted, so much so that many countries are restructuring their entire grid to solar (Pakistan, India, Australia, parts of Africa.) Wind and solar with battery backup are now the cheapest form of energy, outside of our aging hydro dam system.
Solar and wind farms can be installed quickly and cheaply. Add to them solar rooftops and plug-in panels for balconies. All of these are so much cheaper than nuclear reactors.
As I pass those giant hydro towers fron Niagara on north, I wonder why the fields below couldn't become solar parks.
Nuclear is inevitably over time and over budget. Historically, I understand, only the Olympics are worse for managing costs and deadlines. The small modular reactors proposed here are untested except in Russia and China, and use American technology. Our Prime Minister's recent speech suggests the US is no longer a good trading partner.
I say No to nuclear, and Yes to safe, cheap renewable energy.
