Opposition to Gas Powered Plant

Good morning. My name is Zoë Knight, I am reaching out to express my opposition to the NB Power approved Grid Security Project Gas Plant that is proposed to be built in the Centre Village of New Brunswick. While this project claims to be creating renewable sources, I find this to be a false claim after reviewing Project Description. Foremost there is no strategy assignment implemented and that is greatly concerning. 25 years is a long time to contract new energy plans. The plans no where mention the actual consideration of why this benefits any person or land but only considers the benefits of creating energy, but who does it benefit really? The plans of the layout of the plant also take up a significant amount of forrest landmass. Recently there have been numerous wildfires spanning across parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The levels of electricity, hydro, and concrete that is planned to be poured into the soil of the land will limit resources and harm surrounding wildlife and communities while this is already increasingly dire. The strategies are limited I understand but this nor the coal plans are very useful. I fear this impacts will be irreversible. New Brunswick has brilliant forrest and wildlife and this plan would be detrimental not only for the people, but the wildlife too. The outline says they plan on having conversations with Indigenous communities but these have not yet taken place and this worries me to great lengths. I live in Westmorland, where the plant is set to be built. I do not want to see the place I live and am from being depleted of its sources in such a haste and inconceivable manner. Please I ask those involved to seriously reconsider
