Fort Albany First Nation - 100 Lot Subdivision Construction Phase 1 Project

Fort Albany First Nation is proposing the construction and servicing of the Phase 1 of the 100-Lot Subdivision Project planned within the community to support the housing shortage. Phase 1 will include lot servicing to 32 lots of which the physical activities include tree clearing, construction of drainage systems, construction of gravel roadways, and service connections of water, sewer, and electricity to each lot. The site itself is approximately 16 hectares, and has been partially cleared of trees. The remainder 1.67 hectares of tree/ brush clearing is to be completed prior to construction to allow for topographic survey.
Latest update
July 2, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until August 2, 2025 respecting the determination.
