Alaska Highway Realignment - KM 780 Liard River

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has proposed a highway realignment project. With the goal of improving public safety, this project will involve embankment stabilization and highway realignment away from Liard River, along approximately 2 kilometers around KM 780 marker on the Alaska Highway right-of-way. Tree and vegetation clearing, installation of drainage culverts and precast concrete barriers, relocation of traffic signage, and restoration of the area post-construction are planned. No in-water works are planned. The former highway alignment will be decommissioned and the habitat will be rehabilitated.
