Concerns Regarding Nuclear Waste Burial in North-Western Ontario

As a resident of Dryden Ontario, there are several concerns I have with the nuclear waste burial.

- The assessment must consider the impact of nuclear waste burial on local agriculture in the area. Will soil heath be compromised? Could livestock be negatively effected through contaminated water or feed?

- The assessment must also consider the risks to groundwater and surface water. Surrounding areas could become effected due to long term storage and potential leakage? Will this effect local well water and runoff into rivers and lakes?

The assessment must consider effects on the forestry industry that has been the forefront of Dryden's economy. Will contamination affect tree growth and harvesting?

The assessment needs to also consider the local wildlife that impacted by the burial. Could hunting and fishing become an unhealthy practice for the local residents in the area?

If these risks are not mitigated, the people of Dryden and surrounding areas will be grately negatively affected due to the strong local agricultural sector, the large forestry industry that economically drives the town of Dryden, and the hunting and fishing industry that  local residents continue to rely on for both food and recreation.
