Deep geological burial

Here we go again. It is just what we need to be doing to try to raise the alarm for NWMO's project for burying all of Canada's high-level  nuclear waste in northern Ontario. As usual, we concerned citizens fear that we will not be heard by the powers that be. The issue that strikes fear in my heart is the transportation on highways that are not equipped to handle the huge trucks in, at times, treacherous weather and road conditions. The prediction is that there will be 2 to 3 trucks each day for over 50 years. I wonder if a probability expert could figure that out the chances of disaster. Are there adequate emergency responses in place?  These trucks are not hauling grain, appliances, machinery, etc., but highly radioactive material, a threat to health and environment for thousands of years. Water supplies will be especially vulnerable, being impossible to mitigate.  The project strikes fear in my heart. Once the waste is in place, will the containers be perfectly sealed for almost eternity? The "safety care" must be part of the IA Review. Finally, will this open Canada up for storage of HLW from other countries? That's a truly comforting thought. I am fearful for future generations as we are imposing on them insurmountable problems. Shame on anyone pursuing these follies.
