Where:

1. Nuclear energy is essential to Canada's energy future.

2. Nuclear energy is the cleanest, safest form of stable baseload energy we ahve

3. Climate change is a significant and growing threat that will cost many lives and money, and nuclear energy is very low carbon emissions (zero for operation, low total lifecycle emissions)

4. Nucelar energy is required to meet global cliamte targets

5. Electrification of transporatation, heating and heavy industry are essential to fighting climate change

6. DGRs are, based on solid geographical and scientific facts, a safe way to store sued nuclear fuel for the long term.

7. Canada's growing nuclear industry will require a long term solution to storing used fuel

8. The site selection process was thourgh, the right type of rock formation was chosen, and the proposed site has gotten community buy-in for consideration.

9. Transortation of spent fuel has been showing to be safe, with trasnportation containers having been tested by dropping them from heights, crashing trains and trucks into them, and leaving them in burning jet fuel without breeching them, they will be safe to transport on the highway.

10. This project will bring new high paying jobs to Ontario and the community near the project and lead to increased economic benefits in the province.

11. The DGR will not be clsoed for many decades, during which the spent fuel will still be accessible if we develop technology for recycling the waste, such as MSRs, breeder reactors, or reprocessing facilities, and we can still use it for the final disposal of left over waste from those processes.

We should go ahead with this DGR project as it is the best solution to provide medium to long term waste managment to our growing and necessary nuclear energy sector.
