Moraine Power Generator Comment Letter

To the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada,

Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the Moraine Power Generator. We have concerns regarding the construction of a new natural gas plant, the carbon capture technology under use, and the impact of construction on the sensitive landscapes, including a key wildlife biodiversity area. We oppose the development of new natural gas infrastructure, although should the project proceed, we advise re-routing of pipelines and transmission lines to avoid wetlands and key biodiversity areas, extensive restoration of construction areas to functional native habitat, and long-term monitoring of the facility and all components for changes to wildlife, vegetation or air, soil and water quality.
