Development of Market Garden Perimeters

The Women, Agriculture and Resilience (FAR) project is funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) and the "Société de coopération pour le développement international" (SOCODEVI). It aims to promote the socio-economic empowerment of women and young producers in irrigated rice, banana and market gardening. The development work involves the installation of a California-type irrigation system in 4 communes to reduce water loss and improve irrigation efficiency. The project is located in Senegal, Sedhiou – Department of Bounkiling.
