Lake Sturgeon

Although lake sturgeon is already on the comments collected it is important that studies are in place NOW to identify potential spawn below the Lower Sturgeon dam. Ontario Power Generation just told me they do not know. Since the new dam at Yellow Falls was built downstream on the Mattagami River, the headpond has flooded the rapids upstream, therefore possibly changing aquatic habitat usage of lake sturgeon. Spring freshet and spills control at the Lower Sturgeon dam could shift lake sturgeon adult presence for spawn.
