Wildlife and water

In an event such as this what happens to all the wildlife? Birds, bees, moose, deer,etc? And what happens to the water table when all the trees and vegetation gets wiped out? Where does the rain run off go to when there is no root system to absorb the rain?

I know this comment is just a formality but i just want someone somewhere to do an evaluation of the costs to our planet vs the gain to corporations and individuals bank accounts?

I am just not sure if it's worth the price?!!
