Connected Coast Fibre-Optic Cable Installation Project

The Connected Coast Fibre-Optic Cable Installation Project entails the installation of a subsea fibre-optic cable network commencing at Ridley Island, near Prince Rupert, BC and extending to Lax Kw'alaams, BC, with three additional landing sites en route. This fibre network will improve the access, capacity, affordability, and reliability of Internet and other telecom services for residents in rural and remote communities.

The Project includes four landing sites and transects offshore, subtidal, and intertidal areas located within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Prince Rupert Port Authority: Ridley Island Interconnect, Prince Rupert South Interconnect, Dodge Cove, and Metlakatla.
