Dain City Multi-use Trail Improvements

The City of Port Colborne is planning to rehabilitate the Dain City Trail which is a trail that runs parallel with the Welland Canal (The Project). The Project involves rehabilitating approximately 1,045 metres of trail length (3,135 m2), between the project limits of Ceres Global to Dain City. The trail is a paved multi-use trail that is for non-motorized uses, with sightseeing as a popular activity as the trail allows users to experience the activities of the canal closer than any other trail.

The Project involves the rehabilitation of the trail, which requires asphalt work such as milling, removal, and reinstatement. In addition to asphalt work, base repair of some identified locations of the trail is also required. These locations exhibit settlement and poor drainage (water ponding) that require repair prior to restoration of asphalt. The timeline for construction completion is by the end of this year.

The project will improve and unify the overall condition of the trail, providing benefit to the community and all trail users from this rehabilitation.
