Re-Establishing Our Healing Journeys

Project Description:

The project purpose is to rebuild the administration area that was heavily destroyed by fire and to renovate the residential area damaged by smoke. This portion of the building has been gutted to the studs. This land is currently developed, cleared, with access to local services - water, sewer, natural gas, hydro and telephone.

The design will include a new layout and restoration of the existing building which was damaged by the fire. The proposed expansion area is estimated to be 10,688.9sq.ft and will include the following: Multi-Purpose Room, Weight Room, 3 Teddy Bear Therapy Rooms, 3 Counsellor Offices, additional Administration Offices, Learning/Classroom, Arts & Crafts Room and a Ceremonial Circle Room. The existing building restoration is approximately 10,383.8sq.ft and includes the kitchen, reception, dining area, residential suites and some programming. The total new building area will be approximately 21,072.7sq.ft. reflecting our culturally appropriate trauma informed programs.

Scope of work:

  • Re-building the main structure in its original footprint
  • Constructing 3 new expanded additions to the main structure
  • Construct additional parking lot with its own separate entrance from New Credit Road (with granular)
  • The existing pond will have the addition of downspouts connected and will run underneath any roadways or walkways so that storm water can be directed via overland drainage to the pond after outlet.

The current property is approximately 10 acres. In addition to the main structure, property currently houses 3 decommissioned septic beds, 1 parking lot, 2 small storage maintenance garages, and a pavilion behind the main building.

This land is currently developed, cleared, with access to local services - water, sewer, natural gas, hydro and telephone. The project may require excavation activities but will not require any vegetation clearing or works in water.
