To whom it may concern.
I chose to submit my concerns to project # 81297 through this email as I do not use any form of social media.
As a resident/worker/property owner located well within 1.5km of the current Atco salt caverns project for over 40yrs, I feel I have the experience of living in an industrial area to comment on the environmental/ health/ and impact on residents. Having witnessed first hand Atco’s previous salt cavern expansion and the resulting noise/visual disruptions as well as the ever present danger associated with well bore casing failures/cave ins that have been well documented at other facilities throughout the world, I feel it is of importance to ask the question, "why are there still residents within this 1.5km boundary to not one but two, major industrial complex’s, Atco/<sensitive information removed> upgrader”, as well as, what has Atco, <sensitive information removed> , or Strathcona county done to remedy this situation. As a resident who has resided on this property before there was any petrochemical complexes in the area, I can say unequivocally there has been a massive impact to our standard of living, visually, audibly, environmentally, not to mention the impact on ability to sell this property.
