MEDA 324 kW Solar Farm

Muskoday First Nation through Muskoday Economic Development Authority (MEDA) were successful in their submission of a 324 kW solar project through the SaskPower Power Generation Partner Program in November of 2018. Muskoday is working with MiEnergy who can assist with the engineering, procurement and construction of the 324 kW solar facility to be located on reserve land  to operate over a 20 year period, however the lifetime of the panels is estimated to be 25 years. The solar panels will consist of output of 324 kW and will be a Fixed-tilt, ground mounted PV system. MiEnergy will utilize Canadian Solar CS3U-380MB-AG Photovoltaic modules (1118 Modules @ 380W/Module = 424.84 kW DC. The solar panels will be surrounded by a fence but will not have any other infrastructure required other than the short access road from the highway. Interconnection lines to connect to the SaskPower Grid will be required and certified through SaskPower's Engineered approved design process.

The project will be located on currently developed agricultural lands. Muskoday FN is an FNMLA band, and believes that this project would offer a number of economic benefits while helping the community and MEDA to build capacity
in bringing renewable energy projects to commercial operations. Solar energy aligns with the community values and it is very important to them to see this initial project be successful in hopes that it will be the first of many.
