Coal is about water

I am pleased with the opportunity to comment regarding coal expansion in Alberta as sadly the provincial government doesn't seem to care what Albertan's think. While Alberta has been a resource province, Albertan's are realizing the cost of that singular focus is not a good path. Literally moving mountains comes at a cost. The Alberta government has know through wildlife studies that selenium is poisioning the water and showing up in wildlife. Their solution to stop water monitoring at the same time that coal mining is expanding. The economic advantage of coal is short term gain for a long term problem. No mountains, no water, no wildlife. The eastern slopes are the source of the water we drink in Alberta and that carries through Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Let's stop this shortsighted ongoing expansion and decide that coal mining is relegated to bygone eras.
