Fifteen mile stream gold mine

Gold mines creates highly toxic tailings and runoffs and there is little evidence that companies clean up adequately during and after the life of the mines. More often than not, the gold market being so uncertain, they go bankrupt or sell as a prospect to another company  and just abandon the site as is. It is not worth trading 7 years at best of limited employment for a lifetime of poisoned land and streams.
