I am writing to add my voice to those opposed to the Beaver Dam Gold Mine proposal.

The long term devastation wrought on the environment outweighs the short term economic gains the proposal may bring.

Prior to the Covid pandemic, I traveled to Nova Scotia for at least a week each year For vacation since 2004. The appeal

of Nova Scotia is the natural beauty and opportunity to fish pristine rivers. During my stays in Nova Scotia, I spend money

on lodging, gas, food, fishing licenses, souvenirs and many other things thereby helping the local economy. An open strip

mine is not a desirable place to visit. Effort should be put into advertising and drawing people to the region, not pushing

them away.

Please reject the Beaver Dam Gold Mine proposal.
