Do not approve the Teck Tar Sands mine

I am strongly opposed to approval of this mine. At a time when we have only 10 years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% to have a 50% chance of staying under 1.5 C of warming, opening such a collosal greenhouse-gas emitting enterprise is both folly and directly contrary to the government's pldege to be carbon-neutral by 2050. Not only is the PRODUCTION of fossil fuels already the biggest generator of greenhouse gases in this country (at 27%), Canada produces some 3% of all the world's fossil fuels (with less than 1% of the world's population). Approving the Teck mine would be both immoral and irresponsible.
