About the project

Taseko Mines Limited (the Proponent) is proposing to develop, operate and decommission the New Prosperity Gold-Copper Mine Project (the Project) located 125 kilometres southwest of Williams Lake, British Columbia. The proposed project would consist of an open-pit mine, an on-site mill and support infrastructure, a tailings and mine rock storage facility, a 125-kilometre power transmission line, a mine access road and the transport of concentrate to the existing Gibraltar Mine Concentrate Load-out Facility near Macalister, 54 kilometres north of Williams Lake. The rate of production would be approximately 70,000 tonnes of material per day with a proposed operating mine life of approximately 20 years.
