Notice of Time Limit Resumption

Ottawa — May 7, 2026 — On May 5, 2026, IESO Nova Scotia, the province's Independent Energy System Operator (the proponent), provided its Response to the Summary of Issues for the Salt Springs Natural Gas Power Generation Facility Project (the project) to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC). On May 6, 2026, IAAC determined that this document contains sufficient information to inform its decision under section 16 of the Impact Assessment Act regarding whether a further assessment is required. The proponent thereby completed the activity for which it requested that the time limit be suspended on March 11, 2026, and the 180-day time limit has resumed as of May 5, 2026.

The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment, if IAAC decides that an impact assessment of the project is required.
