Samson Cree Nation Emergency Road Repairs of Flood Damage Road and Bridge Assets – Public Comments Invited

[May 01, 2026] – Indigenous Services Canada [and other Authority(ies)] must determine whether the proposed Samson Cree Nation Emergency Road Repairs of Flood Damage Road and Bridge Assets, located in Samson Cree Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Ten road locations on Samson Cree Nation sustained damage during a flood event in the spring of 2020 and these damages were further compounded by the continued, but necessary usage of water and sewer trucks to service area residents during and following the event. The objective of the project is to complete the road repairs to the road and bridge assets. Project activities include road and culvert upgrade construction, gravel surface maintenance, snow clearing, culvert and drainage maintenance.
